Check the method, not just the answer.
KoreaHomeGuide is an independent project that helps foreign renters compare a quote with reported rental transactions and understand what to check before signing.
Renting in Korea should not require guesswork.
Large deposits, unfamiliar housing terms, and fragmented official information make a normal housing decision harder for people new to Korea. KoreaHomeGuide puts the evidence and next checks in one practical path. It is a market reference—not a listing agency, appraisal, broker, or law firm.
Reported contracts, not asking prices.
Rent Check and Explorer use rental transactions reported to Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT). The source data records signed contracts; it does not prove the condition of a unit, every side payment, or whether a listing is still available.

- Start with your quote.District, housing type, deposit, monthly rent, and approximate size define the comparison.
- Find relevant reported contracts.The service prioritizes records that are recent and reasonably similar. The result shows the evidence count and period.
- Compare, then show the evidence.The verdict is based on the comparable rent distribution. The underlying contracts remain visible so you can judge the result.
Property categories follow the available official data. “Studio / one-room” is a convenience label, not an official transaction category, so users are asked to choose the registered housing type when known.
What the result cannot tell you.
- It does not inspect the property, registry, landlord, debt, or deposit protection.
- It cannot see unreported payments, management fees, renovation quality, view, floor, or negotiation terms.
- Fewer comparable contracts mean lower confidence. A result is not an appraisal, legal opinion, or guarantee.
- Official records can be corrected or published later. Dates and coverage shown in the product matter.
Revenue must stay separate from the answer.
KoreaHomeGuide does not currently sell placement inside Rent Check results. If advertising or referral partnerships are introduced, they will be clearly labeled, limited to post-result renter services, and will never include brokers or listing portals. Payment will not change official transaction data, Rent Check calculations, confidence labels, or the order of supporting evidence.
Future renter contributions will be aggregate-only: no building-level community figure appears before three independent reports pass validation, and no unit number, contact detail or individual report is published.
